Even at the age of 24, I still cringe at hearing the words "blood test" or "I.V." It's not only that I don't like needles, it's more that I am an extremely tough stick. There was a time I got stuck 5 times to get some blood. And it often takes two or three people to get an I.V. in me. I do have a "sweet spot," however. A spot that I can usually count on to work for blood and an I.V. I usually make it a point to tell the lab tech about this spot; but they usually don't listen to me and try two or three other spots before finally trying my suggestion and guess what? IT WORKS!! It aggravates me that no one listens to me. I understand they are the professionals and I respect their opinions; but come on, I know my body and what works for me!!
