Jersey Shore Fun!!

Where can you exercise, spend some precious time with your friends and family, and support charities all at the same time?
The New Jersey Marathon Festival Fun Events at the Shore.
Before the serious and intensity of the marathon, 1/2 marathon, and relay marathon takes place on Sunday, Family Fun Events took place on Saturday at Long Branch, NJ.
The day began at 8:30 with the 3-mile fun run/walk. If you like walking the boardwalk, this event is for you -the Long Branch boardwalk is one of the best I have seen in my 23 years. It is not competitive, but there is a timer set up. Just make sure you where socks that won't slip down and cause a blister. I made that mistake and only walked a mile and half. :(
9:30 began the "Kids" 1.2 mile marathon. A run for all ages.
The kids' races for kids ages 2-12 beagan a 10:30. Kids were divided into age groups to compete in short sprints on a soft grass field. Medals were awarded to all participants for thier hard work!! Thier faces as they crossed the field and recieved thier medals were priceless!
While waiting for their event to begin, youngsters could get their face painted, visit a clown and walk away with a balloon animal, or let out energy in the "Fun Bus" Fitness on wheels.
The day ended with a performance by Mr. Ray at 11 and prize drawings.
What could be a better way to spend a gorgeous Saturday morning in Spring?
Ending the events at 12 left plenty of daylight to enjoy the shops and restaraunts right off the boardwalk. That was where you could find my family and I!
Did I mention that the events supported the Turner Syndrome Foundation?
What's more, while shopping, a sales clerk noticed our Team TSF t-shirts, and I overheard her ask my mom about TS!! Spreading the word!!! Cannot wait for next year!!
